Content Conclusion 2007

Well as 2007 draws to a close, I feel the need to let everyone know that I have so much to be thankful for since I have been griping in most of my blogs lately. I have a great happy, healthy family that does so much for me. My little boy who is bright and cute as ever! I have a job that I love, even if my boss only seems to think of herself at times, (I have had much worse) at least she means well. By the way I did get a Christmas bonus, thank god because taxes are right around the corner! I have great friends that are in my thoughts everyday and are more like my sisters. My mom and dad and nana were all able to have Christmas morning at my house together to see Colton when he woke up. This is the first holiday my parents have spent together in over 25 years! I have spent the last few days with my last living grandparent and I wouldn't take anything in the place of that! Of course everyone always WANTS more, but there is nothing that I need, so I feel very blessed. I know 2008 is going to be a geat year. Next on my list is to come up with my list of 10 New Years resolutions, this is going to take some time. I have to choose very carfully because I am going to complete all of them this year!

The Perfect Little Dress

So I went out last night on a mission to find the perfect little dress for New Years Eve. First stop a store I haven't been to since I bought my high school prom dress, but I thought hey why not. As soon as I walk in they tell me everything is 50% percent off, WHAA HOO Bonus #1! I look around for about 20 minutes picking out a handful to try on, the girl helping me picked one out to see if I liked it, I said umm maybe??? (I wasn't thrilled with it, but I was trying to be nice) So as I try on each dress I am getting more depressed, none of them seem to be what I expected. I had picked put one that would not be appropiate for New Years, but a night on the town it would be HOT! Then I get down to the last dress the one she picked out.......I put it on and WOW it looks like a million bucks! So does this mean I need a stylist?? I don't even know what looks good on me! And get this......it was the least expensive, Bonus #2! So I proceed to the checkout counter with both dresses and get 2 for the price of 1. The night couldn't have been better! Now I just have to find shoes like look hot and I can dance all night in!

Less Stress...........Work Sucks!

Today my life got a little less stressful. My step-daughter has been picking up my 3 year old from daycare for me since I started this job with a commute of 1-2 hours each way. In November she started a new job with hours that did not allow her to pick him up, but as of today her shift changed so she can pick him up. Yey, no more shuffle to see who can pick up the baby!

But on the other hand work today has just been a beating. My boss has a shoe box sitting on her desk and guess what the cost is .............$798.00! Hello, can you say "Christmas Bonus" which I have not gotten yet! I'm sure they were delivered from her personal shopper, URRGGGGG! Plus she is in one of her I got my ass chewed yesterday for somthing I didn't do and I am blaming it one everyone else moods! I think this quote of the day I received for today is appropiate.
"I don't mind coming to work,
but that eight hour wait to go home is a bitch."
Thank God I just have to make it until Friday before a 10 day break, I may have 10 martini's!

A Christmas Lunch

Ok so today a vendor took us out a Christmas lunch. We went to a great little Italian place. They were extremely busy and it was raining REALLY hard outside so needless to say it was a 2 hour lunch with alot of wine! My boss went to the bathroom and actually got lost coming back to the table. SHe is totally getting deminsia or Alztimers, her memory is totally gone! My co-workers and I have so many "inside" jokes we are kicking each other under the table and trying not to completly crack up at the situation! At dessert time the waiter asked if we wanted any of made from scratch Bailey's. Well of course we WANTED it, but one of my co-workers spoke up and said "if I have any of that I will not be working this afternoon" (AMEN sista!) Well my boss insisted and said "It's the holidays"(with her little smerk!) So after yet another glass of wine and the Baileys as we are leaving she says she has to go to a TACA Board meeting and she will see us tomorrow. WHAT!!! She is not even on that board this year(she is totally going shopping) And need less to say we are back at work, but not working!

Devil Wears Prada

Ok, I haven't written much about work, but my boss has some total "Devil Wears Prada" moments! Yesterday was no exception. I work in a very small office and we crank out a lot of work. There are 3 of us working on 11 hotels & convention centers. So lets just say we are a little strecthed, and my boss refuses to just be the name behind the firm, but thinks she is still the working force. Except she doesn't like to work, but if something goes out with out her blessing, she goes coocoo! So yesterday she comes in and asks "so does anyone need me today" The reality is I never need her bceuase if you ask her to do anything as small as it may be-it doesn't get done and then I get busted. So at 9:30am she proceeds downtown to Neimans for shopping with her personal shopper. Needless to say she did not return the rest of the day. Today she comes in reads her email and then quizzes all of us about what SHE didn't know about and says, "well I don't know how that could have happened, I must have missed a meeting" That's code for since I am never in the office I have to cover up with I missed a meeting. If we didn't make any decisions when she wasn't here she would never get any hotels complete! Her 10 hours a week(just to read email) wouldn't cut it! I am sure her little shopping spree yesterday was more than my years salary, I just hope there is some left for the Christmas bounus, lord know we are the ones who deserve it! Working the 50+ hours per week that I do!

Accomplished Weekend

I feel like for the first time in a long time, I actually got a lot accomplished this weekend (go me)! Friday: had lunch with some friends and family. Saturday: Went to the grocery store on my mission to find as many organic things as possible(I think I did pretty good) baby steps, right? I also bought a jar of coconut oil and the method cleaning supplies I had written about (I will let you know how those go). Then we packed up and went to a 3 year old's birthday party, I'm glad we did, ended up we were the only one's that showed up! After that it was off to the furniture store to buy my son's first BIG bed! He loves it, and the best part is that we got a full size, so now I can fit to read him bed time stories! Sunday: Some chores around the house then off for some girl time at the mall with lunch, wine, and shopping! Now that is what I call a good day!

Going Green-Step 2

At last, I have found step 2 in my family's journey of going green. Thanks to the people at Target(the best store in the world might I add!). I am setting out to get rid of all harsh chemicals in my house! Method is the product line that I found, they have everything from laundry detergent to home freshener that is all natural. Looks like the first trip will set me back about $50, but refills shouldn't be to bad. Next on the list is actually recycling trash (at least containers).
I have also pretty much finished the The Coconut Oil Miricle Book, "WoW!" some amazing things I did not know there as well. You can even loose weight! Who doesn't want to get a little skinnier right! I will also be setting out to purchase some coconut oil this weekend!

New Hair/Cranky Boss

Well after a year of growing out my hair, I am finally sick of it I made an appt today, to visit my favorite hairstylist. What do ya think of this cut? I am so excited! I can't wait to feel lighter and brighter, WHAA HOO! Almost like a detoxification of the old. By the way I recieved all of my books and starting to transform my way of life to a better body, mind, and soul. I will be well prepared on Jan 1st for my New Years resolution!
On another note......my boss has been a bit more cranky lately. I ask about one thing and get reemed for another! Things that I didn't even have anything to do with! She needs to get out of the country and do what she does best...VACATION!

Exhausted & Undecided

Just back in town after an exhausting week of out of town work. Ready for the weekend! I'm looking forward to a weekend at home with my boy finishing the christmas decor and taking it easy. We are looking into buying some real estate to invest in and plan to make that decision this weekend also. We will see I just know we need to consolidate our life and focus on what is important. So we need to simplify some items. Not so sure I would want to live that close to my mother and stepdad, but the help would be nice!

Potty Time!

Ahhhh! The adventures of potty training. My son has been doing really well with peeing in the potty (until this morning) After he is all dressed and ready, he is laying on his tummy on MY bed watching cartoons, and just pees right there in the middle of the bed! I thought my husband was going to loose it! The comforter has to be drycleaned the sheets jerked off the bed and thrown in the wash! Change him again, all this will make me at least a half hour late getting to work. Now we also have to worry about the cat coming to pee on top of that! She had an issue with that before, but we had broke her, it has been 8 months since her last offense. To make matters worse I am leaving town today for work and no one will work with him as much as me. The hard balance of a working mother! Just make it through the week! Just make it through the week! Just make it through the week! Just make it through the week! I hope they can make it with out me, I will be back on Thursday, will the house still be standing?!?!?!?!?!

Holiday Chaos

Wow! How much it takes just to get this family out of town! It is offical we have WAY too many animals! Since we are all planning to go out of town including the boyfriend and girlfriend, we are left with no one to take care of the critters. I had no idea what drama it would bring to get this task acomplished. I think we have found someone, but she doesn't like to drive being she has no license and she doesn't wan to clean the cat box, although she has 3 cats of her own. So we have decided to cut the trip short and come home Friday night. That's fine by me because going there is just a little too crazy with all of the people and a VERY small house. I know now is the time I am supposed to be thankful for all that I have (and believe me I am) but the PMS has taken over and at this moment I am just trying to keep it together without going postal! It can only get better from here, .....Right??? Wishing Everyone a Safe and Happy Thanksgiiving!

Going Green

Well after 3 days, we have made the first step and effort in going green! Baby steps....baby steps, we have officially changed the lightbulbs in the house to flourescent. The color is going to take some getting used to. I am a fan of the warmer light, but am willing to sacrifice for our planet. I also went around and unplugged all items not used everyday, whaahooo that's 2 steps then. What will be next?? I was thinking paper towels, but I don't know if that will ever happen.....my husband carries one around like a security blanket. I will have to do some research to see what we might be able to adjust to. I am trying to make this transition an easy one for the entire family.

To Do List

Well the weekend was pretty un-eventful. Friday we just had family time on the sofa with popcorn. Saturday morning came way too early, I left the house a 6:30am BLAH! After work, went home to start on my "To Do" list. On this list is to find a reciept from where I paid to apply for the NCIDQ test. I spent 2 hours going through trying to find it. I have always been an organized person, but I have found that the paper trail is becoming overwhelming. I think for Christmas I will be asking for the Neat Receipts program. Anyways, after not coming up with the reciept from Dec 06 mind you, I have come to the realization that I will have to re-apply. Which makes no since because they know I have already taken the test and passed, but they cannot find my application which they had to approve before I could take the test anyway! Moving on Sat evening friends came over for a night of catch up we went to dinner then sat around the fire and drinking way too much wine. Sunday the wine has sat in and I was not 100%, but I was determined to get that "To Do" list accomplished! And I did, but went to bed about 8pm last night. My son woke me up at 4am coughing so we watched a movie and spent some mommy & me time together this morning. I am so ready for a long weekend even if it has to be an out of town weekend it is very much needed!

Well here I go off into the world of blog........(the updated version of a diary, that everyone in the world can read!)
At least it's Friday, I haven't done much work today....it's just too damn pretty outside. Well after the cruise I have reflected on my life and decided to make some changes for the better. I want to live richer in mind, body, and soul. I want to use the power of positivity to bring wealth into my life. What better way to be accountable than to start blogging! I think for me it is a step in the right direction!
